An Elegant Autumn Wedding at Ramster Hall | Alex & Georgie

There is something wonderfully special about an autumn wedding at Ramster Hall.

Surrounded by beautiful seasonal gardens and centuries of history, the 16th-century halls provide a setting that feels both grand and welcoming. Once a family home, Ramster Hall has a warmth that few wedding venues can match. Owner Rosie often shares stories of learning to ride her bike through the Long Hall and roller skating along its historic floors as a child, and perhaps that's why every visit feels less like arriving at a venue and more like coming home.

Alex and Georgie's October wedding embraced everything that makes this venue so magical.

Their ceremony took place in the Great Drawing Room, where family and friends watched them exchange vows. Georgie looked stunning in a floor-length gown by Coco Conran, complete with a cathedral-length veil edged with delicate lace. Her auburn hair was styled half-up and finished with a dark green velvet bow, complementing her bridesmaids' dresses.

Georgie really wanted her wedding shoes to feel special, be comfortable, and be shoes she could re-wear. She chose a pair made by Harriet Wilde, in a beautiful shade of green to complement her bridesmaids' dresses.

Alex looked equally stylish in a three-piece blue suit.

The wedding party's attire beautifully complemented the seasonal styling. Georgie's bridesmaids wore dark green velvet dresses, while her bridesmen wore coordinating green ties.

Alex and his groomsmen provided a lovely contrast with soft pink ties.

Georgie's bouquet and Alex's buttonhole, both created with preserved dried flowers, are beautiful keepsakes from the day.

After the ceremony, they had a quiet moment together in the Long Hall before stepping outside to join their guests in the autumn sunshine.

The drinks reception was held on the lawn, making the most of one of those glorious October afternoons that seem determined to hold on to summer just a little longer.

As the guests made their way into the Long Hall for the wedding breakfast, they were welcomed by tables decorated with flowers that Alex and Georgie had arranged themselves. With help from family members, they carefully selected, trimmed and displayed them in elegant vases. It was a labour of love that brought an incredibly personal touch to the reception space and reflected the care they had poured into every detail of their wedding day.

Following their grand entrance into the wedding breakfast, Alex and Georgie headed straight over to cut their wedding cake before taking their seats.

As they were choosing to serve the cake as dessert, each tier was the same flavour, their favourite, white chocolate and raspberry. Making the cake an even more memorable part of the dining experience.

For guests with dietary requirements, matching vegan lemon and raspberry cupcakes were created to sit alongside the main cake.

Working with the team at Jacaranda Catering, we carefully planned how the cake would be presented and served, ensuring it felt every bit as special as the rest of the dessert experience rather than just a slice of cake on a plate.

From the moment they first enquired, Alex and Georgie knew they loved one of my previous pressed edible flower designs. Together, we developed the concept to create something uniquely theirs, drawing inspiration from the rich colours and textures of autumn.

The finished cake was decorated with an abundance of pressed edible flowers in warm seasonal tones. Some flowers were sourced already pressed, while others were carefully pressed by hand in the weeks leading up to the wedding.

The result was a cake that felt perfectly at home within the surroundings of Ramster Hall. Romantic, elegant and full of seasonal beauty.

As the day turned into the evening, guests were treated to one of the most unique pieces of entertainment I've seen at a wedding. Rather than focusing solely on the dance floor, Alex and Georgie provided a jigsaw puzzle that family and friends could work on together throughout the evening.

Many guests contributed to its completion. The result is a keepsake filled with memories and shared moments.

It was such a thoughtful addition and a wonderful reminder that wedding entertainment doesn't have to follow tradition to bring people together.

With personal touches and beautiful autumn styling, Alex and Georgie's wedding felt authentic to them. Each decision created a day that was beautiful and meaningful for everyone who shared it.
