FAQ

How far in advance should we book our wedding cake?

As soon as possible. As with all wedding suppliers, dates can book up well in advance, particularly during peak season. However, some late availability may be possible during quieter months, but I always recommend securing your date early if you know you'd like me to create your cake.

You can save your date with a £100 deposit, with final details confirmed closer to your wedding day.

Do you work with our venue?

I regularly work with a wide range of wedding venues and am happy to liaise directly with your venue team ahead of your wedding. This ensures delivery, setup, and timings all run smoothly on the day.

Do you offer design consultations?

Design consultations are an essential part of the process and allow us to explore your ideas, styling, colour palette, and overall vision for your wedding cake.

I'll guide you through design options, proportions, and finishes to create a cake that feels beautifully considered and entirely personal to you.

Do you offer cake samples?

I offer postal cake tasting boxes so you can sample flavours in the comfort of your own home.

Each box includes six sponge flavours: three popular favourites from my menu and three carefully selected by me. Sample boxes are £35 and are sent via Royal Mail Tracked 24, usually arriving within 24–48 hours.

What cake flavours do you offer?

I offer an extensive flavour menu, ranging from timeless classics to more indulgent combinations, with new flavours added regularly.

If there's a flavour you love that isn't listed, just ask, I'm often able to create it for you.

You can Take a look at my menu here.

Can we have each tier a different flavour?

Absolutely. Choosing different flavours for each tier is the perfect way to cater to a variety of tastes and ensure as many guests as possible enjoy the cake, often with very little left over.

If you’d like a little more guidance when it comes to choosing flavours, I’ve written a separate blog all about how to choose the perfect flavours for your wedding cake, with tips to help you balance personal favourites with crowd-pleasers.

How much cake will we need?

I always recommend catering for around 75% of your total guest count, as not everyone will choose to eat cake.

If your cake is being served as dessert, then you'll need enough portions for all guests.

For a more detailed look at portion sizes and tier combinations, you might find my blog on how to choose the right size for your wedding cake helpful when planning your numbers.

Do you cater for dietary or free-from requirements?

I cater for most dietary requirements, including a range of free-from options. Any dietary needs should be discussed at the time of booking so I can guide you towards the most suitable and delicious choice for you and your guests.

Do you deliver and set up the cake on the day?

I personally arrange the safe delivery and setup of your wedding cake directly with your venue, ensuring everything is in place and beautifully presented for your celebration.

Do you provide a cake stand and knife?

Many venues include a cake stand and knife as part of their package, but I recommend checking in advance, particularly as the style may not suit your cake design.

I have cake stands available to hire (knives are not included), and I'm also happy to advise on purchasing a stand you can keep after your wedding.

Can we freeze the top tier or any leftovers?

Yes, all of my cakes are suitable for freezing. You'll receive a detailed guide to freezing and defrosting both a whole tier and individual slices so that you can enjoy your cake again at a later date.

Do you have insurance and hygiene training?

Yes. I am fully insured and hold a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate, as well as additional allergen training.

Copies of my certificates are available on request for your peace of mind.
